About BillEase billing software
SSB Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. publishes BillEase, billing software for a Windows PC in an Indian shop. It prints the GST invoice, keeps the stock, and posts the books of that firm.
One program, many counters
One installation holds the business types: pharmacy, kirana, electronics, stationery, clothing, restaurant, hotel, wholesale, repair and a mall. The business type changes labels and which extra screens appear. It does not install a second product. A restaurant gets tables and kitchen tickets. A hotel gets rooms and a guest folio, and also the restaurant screens for room service. A pharmacy gets composition, schedule, doctor and patient, and expiry is required. A wholesaler’s rates usually exclude GST, so tax is added on the bill.
Each company on the computer has its own encrypted database. The licence and the trial belong to the computer, not to each company. One firm cannot read another firm’s bills.
Who it is for
BillEase is for the person at the counter who needs a bill in a few keystrokes, and for the owner who wants the cash, the stock and the GST tables from the same entries. It runs on the shop PC. Other PCs in the shop connect to that PC. A PC outside the shop can connect if the router forwards the port. The program does not open that port itself.
What a licence checks
- The signature. A changed file is rejected.
- The machine id of the main PC. A licence for another computer is rejected.
- The expiry date. After that date the program opens only the licence screen.
- The user count, for PCs connected to the main PC. The trial allows 3. A paid licence allows the number on the file.
The edition name, such as Single counter or WAN, is printed on the licence screen. The program does not hide a menu because of that name. Restaurant and hotel screens follow the business type and the module switches in Settings.
The 10-day trial
Registration starts a 10-day trial. It is stored in more than one place, so deleting the database does not grant another 10 days. Turning the clock back is detected and the program stops. Backup and restore, including the automatic backup, do not run until a licence is loaded. During the trial you can still bill, purchase and keep accounts.
